State Board Secretary Devidas Kulal announced that students can now submit their applications from October 31 to November 10 without incurring a late fee. For those needing extra time, the late submission period will be open from November 15 to November 22.
Application Process and Requirements
The online application process is specifically for regular Class 12 students, including those enrolled in business courses, re-examinees, and private candidates. Initially, the deadline was set for October 30, but the extension aims to facilitate more students in completing their applications. Junior colleges were initially tasked with ensuring the timely submission of applications.
Following the new schedule, schools and junior colleges are required to submit student lists, along with necessary challans and pre-lists, to the Divisional Board by November 27.
Provisions for Private Students
In addition to the extension for regular students, private candidates have also been granted an extended timeframe to file their applications for both Class 10 and Class 12 exams. Private students can submit their applications online from October 31 to December 31, with a late fee of ₹20 per day.
Notably, boys and girls who have completed at least Class 5 but are no longer enrolled in school are eligible to take the Class 10 and Class 12 exams as private candidates.
Importance of the Extension
The decision to extend the application deadline reflects the Maharashtra State Board's commitment to ensuring that all eligible students have the opportunity to participate in the upcoming examinations. The Board encourages students and schools to take advantage of this extended period to ensure complete and accurate submissions, thereby facilitating a smooth examination process.
