NIOS has postponed all the theory, practical and On-demand examinations in the wake of Coronavirus in the country. Read to know more.
The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has released an official notification regarding the postponement of the ongoing NIOS Class 10 and NIOS Class 12 examinations as per an order issued by the Government due to the Coronavirus outbreak. “All the ongoing practical examinations of Secondary and Senior Secondary Course Public Examinations held at exam centres across India scheduled between March 19 and March 31 stands postponed,” read the official notification by NIOS.
The notifications stated that the revised dates shall be intimated after the reassessment of the situation.
All the On-Demand Examinations (ODEs) scheduled to take place between March 19 and March 30 have also been postponed in the wake of COVID-19. The notification further stated that all the theory examinations of both NIOS class 10th and 12th also stand postponed.
For the overseas learners also, the schedule of the examination has been postponed and the revised schedule shall be intimated after the assessment of the situation in overseas centres.
On March 18, 2020, the Ministry of Human Resource Development had directed all the Boards including the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), NIOS to postpone all their ongoing examinations. It also asked the other Universities to postpone all their examinations and reschedule the examinations after March 31. JEE Mains examination has also been postponed.
