NMMS 2024 Application last date EXTENDED @scholarship.gov.in; Here's what to do during OTR Error

Candidates who haven't applied for the NMMSS 2024 scholarships may do so via the NMMS official website, i.e. scholarship.gov.in. The deadline for submitting new or renewal applications for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) is September 30, 2024.

NMMS Application 2024 last date extended until September 30

NMMSS Application 2024 Deadline Extended! The Ministry of Education (MoE) has extended the application deadline for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS). Now, students seeking the NMMS Scholarship Scheme 2024 can apply for the same until September 30, 2024. Earlier, the last date to apply for the NMMS Scholarship Scheme was August 31, 2024. The MoE commenced the online application process on June 30. Candidates who haven't applied for the NMMSS 2024 scholarships may do so via the NMMS official website, i.e. scholarship.gov.in. 

“It is hereby notified that the last date for uploading the application of fresh i.e., selected candidates of National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) beneficiaries for the year 2024-2025 and renewals in National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is extended up to 30.09.2024. The Head of the institutions concerned are requested to inform the students concerned and complete the registrations within schedule time,” the official notice stated.

NMMSS 2024 Scholarship Application: How to Apply?

Candidates willing to apply for NMMSS 2024 may follow the steps listed below:

• Open the NMMS official website, National Scholarship Portal at scholarship.gov.in.
• Navigate and click on the NMMSS 2024 link available on the homepage. 
• A new webpage with input fields will open.
• Enter required credentials in the input fields.
• Verify the details and complete the registration process to fill the application form.
• Upload the scanned copies of the necessary documents (if required).
• Now submit the NMMS 2024 application by clicking on submit.
• Keep a hard copy of the same for further need.

NMMS 2024 Application: What to do in case of OTR Issue?

Students facing OTR errors may go through the information available on the official website. It states: “It has been observed in some cases that student’s / parent’s / legal guardian’s face authentication for generation of OTR is getting failed as they (Aadhaar Holder) have locked the biometrics for authentication in their Aadhaar. In such cases students / parents / legal guardians are advised to check their Biometric Lock / Unlock status by using mAadhaar mobile app or My Aadhaar web portal. Before proceeding for face authentication through NSP OTR app, kindly ensure that the Biometric Lock / Unlock status should be as “Unlocked” for authentication in Aadhaar. To lock or unlock the Biometric in Aadhaar, please click on the “Lock/Unlock Aadhaar” option on myAdhaar web portal(please refer to the link: https://resident.uidai.gov.in/bio-lock).”

The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) has launched a new One-Time Registration (OTR) application for the NMMSS 2024. This update includes a redesigned homepage, enhanced mobile app, and a refreshed web interface, leveraging the latest technology for an improved user experience. The OTR system assigns a unique 14-digit identifier linked to the Aadhaar/Aadhaar Enrolment ID, which will be valid throughout the student's academic career. The deadline for submitting new or renewal applications for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) is September 30, 2024.
