In a letter directed to the Director of Secondary Education, the School and Mass Education department outlined that the new uniforms would be adopted for secondary school students.

The newly formed Odisha Government has officially changed the color scheme for school uniforms for students in classes 9 and 10 of government and aided schools. According to a recent government order, the new uniforms will feature a combination of light brown, chocolate, and clay-baked yellow.

Departure from Previous Scheme

Previously, students wore uniforms with a combination of green and white, which aligned with the color code of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) party symbol. The shift to the new color scheme marks a significant departure from this previous alignment, reflecting the Odisha government's new policies.

Implementation Details

In a letter directed to the Director of Secondary Education, the School and Mass Education department outlined that the new uniforms would be adopted for secondary school students. The change will be implemented only in schools where the uniforms, according to the existing color code, have not yet been stitched or distributed.

Part of a Broader Initiative

This change in uniform colors is part of the 'Mukhyamantri Chhatra Chhatri Paridhan Yojana', a program aimed at enhancing the education experience for students. The initiative underscores the government's commitment to providing a distinct identity for students, while also aligning with the current administration's vision.

The new uniforms are expected to be rolled out in the upcoming academic sessions, signaling a new chapter in school attire for students in Odisha.
