The Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday said through social media that he has requested the Ministry of Human Resource Development to promote the students of CBSE 10th and CBSE 12th on the basis of their internal assessment marks. "It will not be possible to conduct the remaining exams of CBSE 10th and CBSE 12th so, the children should be passed on the basis of internal exams only just like the students of 9th and 11th have been passed,” Sisodia tweeted.

Moreover, the Minister has also proposed that the syllabus for the next academic year be slashed by 30% and the national entrance examinations such as JEE and NEET be held on the basis of the reduced syllabus. He also said that the Delhi Government has asked the Centre a timeslot of 3 hours on Doordarshan and AIR FM for the teachers to conduct online classes for the students of Delhi.

This comes after a meeting was conducted between the HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' and the state education ministers. This was the first meeting of the education ministers after the lockdown was put into force on March 25 to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
