Propeller Technologies has successfully launched the third season of the Tamil Nadu Robotics League (TRL). This year’s event was prominently sponsored by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and partnered with SASTRA University as the knowledge partner, while Veranda Learning Solutions powered the initiative. The inauguration was presided over by PDG AKS Rtn Er M. Murugananandam, Rotary International Director (2025-27), underscoring the significance of this event in promoting student-driven innovation.

High Participation Reflects Growing Interest in Robotics

Held at the National College in Trichy, TRL-3 attracted over 5,000 students from 370 schools across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Telangana. The event continues to establish itself as a premier platform for young minds to engage with science, technology, and robotics, reaffirming its vital role in STEM education.

Space Exploration Theme Inspires Young Innovators

The 2024 edition of the league centered around the theme of Space Exploration, challenging students to design and build robots capable of performing space-related tasks and missions. Participants were categorized into Junior, Senior, and Super Senior groups, showcasing their innovative solutions to complex challenges that highlight their technical creativity and problem-solving skills.

Fostering Innovation and Curiosity

Aashik Rahman, CEO of Propeller Technologies, expressed his satisfaction with the overwhelming response to this year’s league. “It is inspiring to see so many young talents come together with such enthusiasm. The theme of Space Exploration has ignited their imaginations, and the robots they’ve created demonstrate a high level of ingenuity and technical prowess. At Propeller Technologies, our mission is to foster innovation and curiosity in students, and TRL reflects that vision,” he stated.

Empowering the Next Generation

Propeller Technologies partners with nearly 500 schools annually and has been at the forefront of promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education in Tamil Nadu. Rahman emphasized the importance of hands-on experience in learning, saying, “Through initiatives like the Robotics League, we’re not just teaching students about robotics; we’re empowering them to think critically, collaborate, and solve real-world problems.”

Supporting Growth in STEM Education

Subramanyam Kantheti, CEO of Veranda K-12, which manages BVM Global Schools, echoed this sentiment by highlighting the growing importance of STEM education. He remarked, “At BVM Global Schools, we believe in equipping students with the skills necessary to thrive in the rapidly evolving technological landscape. Competitions like TRL-3 offer a great opportunity for students to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills that are vital for future success. We are proud to be part of an initiative that inspires young minds to engage with STEM concepts and push the boundaries of innovation.”
