Except the chief invigilator and two venue supervisors at the exam centre, none else would be permitted to bring mobile phone inside the hall.

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has informed that it would take strict action if anyone is found sharing supposed images of question papers in Whatsapp group to interrupt the process. Approximately 7.9 lakh candidates are going to appear in the higher secondary examination which will be conducted from March 12 to 27 across 734 examination centres in West Bengal. Mohua Das, WBCHSE president, requested media to expose the source of any such message to the council. She held that to disrupt the exams, a section of people make Whatsapp group and circulate images.

The WBCHSE president further informed that internet facilities would be blocked in some sensitive areas where the exam centres are situated for about one hour after the start of the exams. She further stated that 250-300 metal detectors would be put to use in as many examination centres situated in Howrah, North 24 Parganas, Malda, Birbhum, and North Dinajpur and few other districts.

A senior chief invigilator will solely be entrusted to monitor the examinations in a centre to keep a check on any misconduct during the exams. She informed that if any examination centre is known with loopholes to avert malpractices such as copying, using mobile phones inside the hall then they might also ponder cancelling their affiliation from next year. Except the chief invigilator and two venue supervisors at the exam centre, none else would be permitted to bring mobile phone inside the hall. They won't get permission to leave the centre till the three-hour exams are completed.
