PM-SHRI Scheme: Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan along with Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath launched PM SHRI schools in the state under which 928 schools will be upgraded. Through this scheme, schools with modern facilities will be constructed. These schools will become the medium for the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
As per officials, 1753 schools in Uttar Pradesh have been selected for PM Schools for Rising India (SHRI) Yojana. Infrastructure upgrades such as Baalvatika, smart classrooms, science laboratories, digital libraries, and sports facilities will be implemented in schools, leading to the construction of integrated campuses to provide holistic school education.
Pradhan praised the efforts of CM Yogi Adityanath in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) in the state during the last three years. The first phase of the PM SHRI initiative covers 928 government schools in Uttar Pradesh, including 81 Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs).
CM Adityanath at the launch of the PM Shri Schools Modernization Program with an amount of Rs404 crore at Lok Bhawan, said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi intends that India should once again provide leadership to the world through the National Education Policy-2020. Uttar Pradesh is moving forward in this direction with full commitment."
He also highlighted how students from the UP’s Navodaya Vidyalaya have succeeded in competitive entrance exams such as Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) and National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission into Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), government medical colleges, National Institutes of Technology (NITs), without any coaching.
