The Uttar Pradesh Board has tightened the norms for examination centres for UP Board Class 10 as well as UP Board Class 12 examinations 2021.
According to the board officials, the schools which do not have main access roads that are at least 10 feet wide would not be made UP Board exam centres. A policy in this regard has recently been approved by the state government.
The policy issued earlier mentioned that the schools which are to be designated as board exam centres must have proper access roads.
The width of the road has been specified for effective inspection of all the UP Board examination centres for impartial conduct of exams. Moreover, it would also facilitate surprise checking to ensure confidentiality of question papers being maintained by all centres.
The move comes even as the number of examination centres will be more as compared to last year in view of social distancing because of the coronavirus outbreak.
Earlier, around 22,172 schools out of 27,823 schools which will be a part of UP Board 2021 examinations updated their information online to be considered as examination centres.
As per the norm, all the schools which have high-tension wires passing over the entrance, teaching rooms or administrative rooms will not be made the UP Board exam centres. Also, it is now mandatory for all the schools to have a permanent power connection and a generator for power back-up in order to become a board exam centre.
State board officials said that members of the flying squads usually arrived in cars for inspections. This rule on roads has been implemented for the first time to make sure that there is no obstruction in their movement to the examination centre. This has been done in line with the state governmentβs instructions of copying- free exams.
The UP Board 20201 exam centre allotment policy was issued on November 25 by the state government. The verification of available resources in schools for being designated as board exam centres has already begun in districts.
UP Board secretary Divyakant Shukla said that he had instructed all the district inspectors of schools (DIOSes) to make sure that the completion of the physical inspection of the schools in the running to become exam centres by committees set up by the respective district magistrates and upload the information on the designated portal by December 26 after completing the inspections as per the set deadline of December 20.
