The Uttarakhand Board of Secondary Education (UBSE) has announced that it will not be conducting the remaining Class 10 and 12 exams in the areas that fall under coronavirus containment zones.
“As per the guidelines, there shouldn’t be an examination centre in the containment zone. Also, a student who is living in the containment zone can’t move outside the zone. If the containment zone is declared a non-containment zone before June 22, then everything will be done as per the schedule for the students living there, otherwise, such students will get a chance to appear for the exam after June 25,” said R K Kunwar, Director of Uttarakhand School Education.
As per the revised Uttarakhand Board Date Sheet, Class 10th and 12th board examination for the remaining subjects will be conducted between June 20 and June 23, 2020. The Board exams in the state were earlier postponed due to the nation-wide lockdown imposed to contain further spread of coronavirus.
Earlier reports also suggested that UBSE is planning to announce the UK 10th Result 2020 and UK 12th Result 2020 by July. The Uttarakhand Board Result 2020 has been delayed this year as the evaluation process was halted in between due to coronavirus outbreak.
According to the UBSE board exams date sheets 2020, the UK 10th and UK 12th examinations were scheduled to begin from March 2 and conclude on March 25.
Earlier, UBSE Education Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram had said that “around 340 schools are been converted into quarantine centers which will be given to Board by June 15, after the sanitization work in schools will be carried out until June 18. After the sanitisation programme, the Board is planning to conduct the remaining board exams from June 20-23."
