IIM Calcutta receives generous contribution of INR 54 lakhs from PGP 22nd batch

IIM Calcutta Class of 1987 contributes INR 54 lakhs for the upgradation of the Students Sports complex. 

A felicitation ceremony was organized at the campus of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta to convey gratitude to the entire class of PGP 22nd batch for their thoughtful generosity towards their alma mater. According to the information provided by the b-school, the batch contributed INR 54 lakhs for the upgradation of the Students Sports complex. This contribution will be utilized to reform the infrastructure and modernise the student’s sports complex. 

Unveiling of the ‘Foundation stone’ recognizing the contribution of the PGP 22nd batch towards the upgradation of the multi-utilitarian sports courts marked the ceremony.

The event was graced with the presence of Professor Uttam Kumar Sarkar, Director, IIM Calcutta along with Professor Manish Thakur, Dean (New Initiatives & External Relations). IIM-C faculty members, officers and staff and students also attended the ceremony. Aurindam Dey attended the ceremony representing the PGP 22nd batch at the premises and was joined virtually by his batchmates from all across India and abroad.

Expressing gratitude toward the generous contribution by the batch, Professor Uttam Kumar Sarkar, Director, IIM Calcutta said “I am happy to know of the generous endowment given by the PGP 22nd batch to help upgrade the state-of-the-art facilities for our sports complex. We at IIM Calcutta are thankful to all our alumni for continuous efforts of giving back.” 

Professor Manish Thakur, Dean (New Initiatives & External Relations), IIM Calcutta expressed his sincerest appreciation to the 22nd PGP and said “At IIMC we have a strong culture for students to pursue sporting activities along with their academics. Skills like team building, leadership, time management, commitment and strategy are all developed on the playing field. I am grateful to the 22nd batch for their generosity and the re-affirmation of their emotional connection with their alma mater.”
