IIM Indore, AKTU sign MoU to train women in Finance, Leadership, Entrepreneurship
Under the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), IIM Indore and AKTU will work together to train Uttar Pradesh’s women in financial literacy, entrepreneurship and leadership.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore and APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University have signed a pact to train the women of Uttar Pradesh. Under the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the educational institutions will work together to train Uttar Pradesh’s women in financial literacy, entrepreneurship and leadership.
“We will make at least two AKTU teachers nodal officers in each district. These teachers, preferably of MBA courses, will be trained by IIM-I on how to train women. Thereafter, they will be reaching out to around 100-200 women in their respective districts to transform these women into successful leaders and entrepreneurs,” said IIM-I director professor Himanshu Rai.
“We will train women who are skilled in chikankari, handicraft, or any other skill but are unaware of the potential they have, the market and the amount of recognition and financial rewards they deserve for their skills. Also, both institutes will work on entrepreneurship development and incubation centres,” he said.
The framework delineated in the MoU encompasses multiple collaborative endeavors, including the development of specialized programmes aimed at enhancing the capabilities of academic personnel across colleges and universities in Uttar Pradesh as well. Additionally, both institutions will engage in joint efforts to design short-term and long-term certificate courses while embarking on research and consultancy projects, fostering an environment for innovative knowledge exchange.
The collaboration is not limited to academia but extends to the social fabric, with joint efforts planned for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) activities. Both institutions are also committed to collaborating on initiatives focusing on entrepreneurship development and the establishment of incubation centers, aiming to create a positive impact in the communities.
Valid for a period of three years, this partnership symbolizes an innovative approach toward knowledge exchange, skill enhancement, and entrepreneurial spirit, creating an environment for mutual growth and advancement, the institute informed.
