The valedictory function was held in the presence of Professor Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore. 17 participants from 6 nations received their Certificate of Completion on occasion.
IIM Indore conducted the graduation ceremony of the seventh and the eighth batch of the General Management Programme for Executives in UAE and GCC Nations – GMPe.
The valedictory function was held in the presence of Professor Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore. 70 participants from 6 nations received their Certificate of Completion on occasion. Professor Subin Sudhir, Chair – Executive Education; Professor Manoj Motiani, Programme Coordinator – GMPe; and Dr Mahesh Chotrani, Founder Director of Anisuma Training Institute, were also present.
Professo Himanshu Rai, in his address, encouraged the graduating participants to be brave and follow their hearts, for that’s the first step to success. He said that one needs to develop fortitude in themselves, and practicing courage is the best way to do so. “Often people ask me how to be courageous. I advise them to practice courage. If you plan to do something, make sure you don’t let your fear defeat you,” he said.
\Whenever you feel helpless or rejected, stop, pause, turn behind – and look at everything you have achieved so far. “You will realize that you have already come a long way, and thus, will gather the courage to move ahead once again,” he explained. He further motivated the participants to identify their passion, introspect and reflect on their life’s purpose. “Find out how you wish to define success, for success changes now and then. Don’t be obsessed with the milestones in your life. Life is what happens between those milestones. So live in the present, enjoy and appreciate every moment and be mindful of what you are doing,” he said.
He concluded by advising the participants to adapt equanimity and be wise. “Never get overjoyed with your successes; don’t get depressed when you fail. These ups and downs are parts of our lives, and one should remember that what we have today belonged to someone else in the past and will be someone else’s in the future,” he said.
Dr Mahesh Chotrani, too, congratulated all the 70 participants for completing the course. He mentioned that IIM Indore’s alumni base in the UAE and GCC Nations has now crossed 600. ‘The graduating batches have participants from 6 nations: UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Muscat, Egypt and Bahrain. We – IIM Indore and Anisuma Training Institute, together are happy to expand our international alumni base and look forward to growing our families’, he said.
The event concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, wherein the graduating participants received their Certificate of Completion from Professor Himanshu Rai.
