IIM Nagpur, HPCL sign MoU to promote academic and industry interactions

With this arrangement, HPCL will offer assistance to IIM Nagpur in course curriculum designing which in turn will help in making the students ready for the industry.

Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIM Nagpur) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) have collaborated by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on IIM Nagpur, Mihan campus. Dr Bhimaraya Metri, Director IIM Nagpur, Sapana Srikanth General Manager Capability Building, signed the MoU promoting academic and industry interactions.

Lt. Col. M V Alur, Chief Administrative Officer, Nikhil Verma, DGM Capability Building HPCL, Kapil Gakhar, Chief Manager Human Resources HPCL, Professor Atul Arun Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education IIM Nagpur, were present on the occasion.

With this arrangement, HPCL will offer assistance to IIM Nagpur in course curriculum designing which in turn will help in making the students ready for the industry. HPCL will also suggest changes in specified course modules in the respective program and provide inputs in the curriculum for making it contemporary and industry relevant, according to the official release.

HPCL shall also offer two months summer internship to the students of IIM Nagpur at HPCL locations across India. In turn, IIM Nagpur will develop customized learning programmes/workshops relevant to HPCL Employee Training needs. These shall be short-duration Management Development Programs on various subjects related to behavioral, business, leadership and functional domains of HPCL.

Dr Metri informed that the institute aims to create value-driven leaders, global managers, and entrepreneurs with strong conceptual foundations and analytical approach with its programmes in teaching, training and consultancies.

IIM Nagpur to provide long term courses

With a view to developing the capabilities of the available workforce of HPCL, IIM Nagpur shall develop Long Duration part-time certificate program on behavioral as well as business. With regard to long duration courses, HPCL will collaborate with IIM Nagpur for conducting a part-time Executive General Management Certificate Program (EGMP) for Junior Management employees covering general management topics in line with HPCL competency frameworks and business strategy as well as for conducting long duration part-time Senior Executive Certificate Program (SECP) covering business competencies in line with HPCL future business strategy.

Similarly, IIM Nagpur will offer other long-term courses basis as per their specialization and HPCL business requirements.

IIM Nagpur will act as a knowledge partner in promoting and activating various types of research including behavioral research in the respective functional areas.
