IIM Ranchi concludes ADP for IPoS officers
The objective of the customized two-week residential training programme was to enhance the participants’ skills and capabilities in terms of leadership, management, and strategic decision-making. Professor Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi and Pradeep Michael Lal, Director, Rafi Ahmed Kidwai National Postal Academy (RAKNPA), Ghaziabad were present during the valedictory programme.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) conducted an on-campus residential Advanced Development Programme (ADP) for the senior officers of the Indian Postal Services (IPoS), Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India. The objective of the customized two-week residential training programme was to enhance the participants’ skills and capabilities in terms of leadership, management, and strategic decision-making. Professor Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi and Pradeep Michael Lal, Director, Rafi Ahmed Kidwai National Postal Academy (RAKNPA), Ghaziabad were present during the valedictory programme. The programme directors, Professor Tanusree Dutta and Professor Amarendu Nandy, and other faculty and staff members were also present at the valedictory ceremony.
The Indian Postal Service (IPoS) is one among the Group ‘A’ civil services in India. The programme’s participants, having about 26-28 years of service seniority, joined from across India. The Advanced Development Programme is part of the third phase of their Mid-Career Training Programme.
The programme covered inputs from all major domains of management (viz. accounting and finance, marketing, operations, organizational behaviour, human resource, information systems and strategy) that was most useful and relevant for the officers of IPoS. The programme introduced the participants to various pedagogical approaches like lectures, in-class activities, field visits, benchmarking visits and group activities to enhance individual learning and promote group dynamics. The programme was designed to help the participants hone their management competencies and leadership abilities to become more innovative and efficient in their respective roles and functions in their workplace.
