IIT Jodhpur to start School of Management & Entrepreneurship

The two-year MBA programme will provide specialisation in two directions. The first year will be fully dedicated to core courses. However, the second year will consist of specialization courses.

IIT Jodhpur starts the ‘School of Management & Entrepreneurship’ (SME). July 2020 onwards, multiple academic programs, including MBA will be starting under IIT Jodhpur’s management and entrepreneurship school. The Tech-MBA course is the highlight of the school. The two-year course will be devoted to foundation courses in the first year and the second year will be all about earning specialisation into cutting edge areas. The specialisation will be offered in two directions, traditional areas to earn a regular MBA degree as well as Tech courses to earn a Tech-MBA degree.

Established in 2008, IIT Jodhpur has established the multidisciplinary School of Management & Entrepreneurship (SME) to capitalise on the changing and current trends in the market place. It aims at complementing and providing a unique proposition to already existing technology programs. SME will create an opportunity for candidates to earn dual degrees and joint degrees. Multiple options like Tech-MBA, regular MBA, modular MBA, and international MBA (Joint Degree and Dual Degree) will be provided to the candidates in order to build socially responsible corporate leaders.

MBA Programme Structure

The two-year MBA programme will provide specialisation in two directions. The first year will be fully dedicated to core courses. However, the second year will consist of specialisation courses. Under this, the specialisation will go in two directions – one, in all functional areas and second, in technology areas.

Placement Record

So far, the package for undergraduate placement at IIT Jodhpur has been around 12LPA. The institute believes that with the launch of Tech-MBA, it will attract high profile recruiters offering a package of 20 LPA.  The scheduling of the semester has already been synchronized with the corporate world’s recruiting cycle.

IIT Jodhpur’s soon-to-be-launched School of Management & Entrepreneurship will also have distinguishing features like value proposition, corporate centric culture, a school with adequate autonomy, internationalization, innovation & entrepreneurship, international accreditation, deepen engagement with alumni, and management development program.
