PGDM Admissions 2022: AICTE asks management institutes to apply for approval before enrolling students
All such institutions seeking AICTE approval to admit students for the academic year 2022-23 have to apply online on the portal.
PGDM Admissions 2022-23: All Postgraduate Diploma Management (PGDM) institutions have received directions from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to apply for its approval before starting admission for the academic year 2022-23. The official notification released by the Council reads, “It has come to notice of AICTE from newspaper advertisements that some institutions are admitting students for Postgraduate Diploma in Management courses in Ay 2022-23 without taking approval of AICTE. The PGDM institutes are standalone institutes and the norms of AICTE for PGDM are given in appendix 9 of APH 2021'22 are strictly to be followed.”
A warning has been issued by the Council that legal action will be taken against any institution that offers any technical course or programme in violation of regulations or approval process handbook.
Therefore, all PGDM institutions are directed to admit the students after obtaining Approval from AICTE. All such institutions seeking AICTE approval for the academic year 2022-23 have to apply online on the portal after AICTE notification, said the Council.
Earlier, AICTE said that in order to avoid confusion among stakeholders, it has been decided that no partial approval of technical courses will be given to universities. All universities have to take either full approval of AICTE for technical courses or continue without its approval, officials said.
All Deemed to be Universities that have not obtained approval so far are required to obtain AICTE approval in the academic year 2022-23, otherwise, the Council will be constrained to stop giving approval obtained partially to only a few technical programmes, it said.
