XLRI Jamshedpur felicitates alumni at homecoming ceremony

As many as 10 distinguished alumni of the institute received the distinguished alumnus awards in six categories. 

XLRI- Xavier School of Management hosted distinguished alumni awards ceremony to felicitate its alumni on the occasion of ‘Annual Alumni Homecoming 2022’. As many as 10 distinguished alumni of the institute received the distinguished alumnus awards in six categories. 

More than 250 alumni of 1972, 1980 and 1984 batch participated in this year’s homecoming held on the XLRI campus in Jamshedpur. S George SJ, Director, XLRI; Rana Sinha, president of the XLRI Alumni Association, and Prof MG Jomon, chairperson, XLRI Alumni Association, were present on the occasion. 

On receiving the award, Vikram Misri, XLRI alumnus of PGDM BM 1986 and a career diplomat from 1989 batch of Indian Forgein Service who received the Distinguished Alumni Awards 2022 in the Allied Fields Category, said, “Eleven years down the lane, I had received a call from the Director’s office of XLRI, but I couldn’t receive it as I was travelling and couldn’t come 11 years ago for this award but here I am today. In 1981, I joined University in Delhi, I wasn’t destined to come to XLRI but it happened and I am so glad for it. My experience has been very different than other Xlers.” 

Pushp Kumar Joshi, chairman and managing director at HPCL and an alumnus of PMIR, 1986, received the Lifetime Achievement Award. He said, “I am grateful for this privilege. I feel that this recognition is the privilege of that great XL spirit and I am just the medium through which the spirit is recognised and this spirit is so unique and special that makes our institute the best institute in the world.”
