Soon after the release of the guidelines by the health ministry, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) also released a notification directing the principals of the schools affiliated to CBSE to encourage parents and guardians to get their children vaccinated at the earliest.
COVID-19 vaccination for children has been announced by the union health ministry for the age group of 15 to 18 years. The announcement came amid the rising number of novel coronavirus cases and its infectious Omicron variant. Soon after the release of the guidelines by the health ministry, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) also released a notification directing the principals of the schools affiliated to CBSE to encourage parents and guardians to get their children vaccinated at the earliest.
Stating that the government has taken a positive step towards the health and safety of the children by commencing the vaccination process, the notice released by CBSE stated, “The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India has issued guidelines on 27th December 2021 for COVID-19 vaccination of Children between 15-18 years from 03rd January 2022 onwards under National Vaccination Programme. Taking the COVID-19 vaccination as per guidelines of Govt. of India, will ensure safety of children and students of the age group between 15-18, and provide protection to students leaving their homes to attend school.
The notice further reads, “Keeping in view the above facts, the heads of the CBSE affiliated schools are advised to encourage the parents, teachers and staff of the schools to get their children of age group 15-18 years, vaccinated as per guidelines of the Govt. of India as early as possible.”
CBSE concluded its term-1 exams in the month of December. It is expected that CBSE Term-1 results for Class 10, 12 will be released by January end. The schedule for CBSE Term 2 exams will be released in February. The exams for the same will be conducted in the month of April and May.
