In order to promote reading and literacy under the framework of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the central board of secondary education commenced the CBSE reading mission on September 20, 2021.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to conduct a webinar for teachers under the CBSE reading mission 2021-23 campaign today, i.e. Thursday, January 27, 2022. According to the information posted by the Board on its official Twitter handle, the theme of the reading webinar for teachers is “storytelling as a pedagogy’. The Board will webcast the live session of the webinar at the CBSE official YouTube channel, ‘CBSE academics and trainings’, which will begin at 3 pm.
In order to promote reading and literacy under the framework of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the central board of secondary education commenced the CBSE reading mission on September 20, 2021. According to a statement from the board, the webinar will give access for teachers to reading materials and also initiate activities for developing language skills. The initiative aims at giving teachers access to children’s storybooks and other resources in English and Hindi languages for Classes 1 to 8.
Meanwhile, the reading challenge in English and Hindi has also been extended by CBSE for classes 6 and 7. Earlier, it was organised just for students of Classes 8 to 10.
According to the official website of StoryWeaver, under the CBSE reading mission, teachers will be provided with training materials in order to help them in conducting reading sessions and activities via online mode through ‘Teacher Connect’ interactions. Here teachers will be able to interact and share best practices, work and feedback on the programme design.
