The Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) has decided to give financial incentives to meritorious students.

The Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) has notified that it has decided to give financial incentives to meritorious students. The scheme under which the financial incentive will be given is known as the incentive scheme.

An MoU has been signed between CNLU and the Consortium of NLUs. The financial assistance will be given from the financial year 2019-20 and the university will disburse the incentive from the financial year 2019-20 onwards.

Incentive amount to be subjected to assistance given by NLUs Consortium each year

The official notification says, "This distribution of incentive amount will be subject to the financial assistance given by NLUs Consortium each year. It has been decided that from the financial year 2019-20, every year total 50 students will be given incentive of INR 40,000 per student."

"Out of 50 students, 25 students will be from BA LLB (Hons) and 25 will be from BBA LLB (Hons) Course. Among 25 students, 5 students each year will be given incentive amount according to the merit in examination. While considering the merit, the marks of both semesters in one year will be calculated," added the notification.

The university made it clear that the merit list will be prepared by the examination department and 5 students from each year from the top of the list will be provided an incentive amount on the following conditions:

  • One who has not appeared in the Repeat Examination in the respective year.
  • There has been no disciplinary action against the students in that respective year.
