Coding Ninjas, Chandigarh University & AICTE conclude ‘India Innovate Coding Championship 2022’

Scripting another level of success, ‘Innovate India Coding Championship ‘ 2022 organised by Coding Ninjas, India’s largest online upskilling platform for aspiring and professional coders concluded with an event in Chandigarh. Shlok Goyal from IIT Roorkee won the competition while Tanveer Singh from BITS Pilani and Ruturaj Godse from BITS Pilani Goa campus secured second and third rank respectively. Aligning with the Government’s National Education Policy 2020, the coding event was launched in association with AICTE and Chandigarh University to encourage skill-based programming as a culture by creating a national platform for students seeking a chance to showcase their talent.

As a part of the 76th Independence Day celebration under ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,’ the three staged online competitions witnessed an overwhelming participation of over 100,000 students from 4,500 colleges and universities. Out of the total participants, 25000 students qualified for round two and the top 1000 from 650 colleges competed in the finale which went on for six hours. Elated on winning IICC 2022, Shlok Goyal said, “I am very happy to win the competition as it was an amazing event where we bore high levels of pressure while showcasing our skill set. I would say it allowed me to showcase the best of my abilities.”

Expressing his happiness about the success of the event, Ankush Singla, the co-founder of Coding Ninjas, said, “It gives me immense pleasure to announce the successful completion of IICC 2022 which witnessed a number of enthusiastic participants, healthy levels of brainstorming and talented winners. We strongly believe that constant skilling, upskilling and reskilling is the way to create an efficient workforce in the country and combat serious employment issues. The success of the event has further motivated us to continue encouraging and hosting such competitions that would encourage the youth to showcase and evaluate their skills.”

Pre-competition, Coding Ninjas also organised a number of mentorship and up-skilling sessions where industry experts addressed the students and shared their coding experiences.

The winners and participants of IICC 2022 were rewarded with prizes worth INR 11 lakhs as a recognition of the success and effort put in by them while competing with each other. Top performers of the IICC 2022 were also given an opportunity to get internship or placement opportunities with leading tech companies along with Coding Ninjas upskilling scholarships.

Talking about the IICC 2022, Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE, said, “IICC 2022 was one of the best coding competitions we ever organised. I congratulate the winners for performing in an extraordinary manner. It was truly a unique experience of having these talented students on board and seeing them competing, interacting and cooperating with each other and showcasing their brilliant ideas, creativity and analytical ability.”

The IICC-2022 grand finale was hosted on-ground, in the presence of 400 students from 175 colleges, which also included a closing ceremony that took place on August 11-12 within the premises of Chandigarh University. Abhishek Gupta (Head of Business, Coding Ninjas), Professor Anand Agarwal (Vice-Chancellor, Chandigarh University) and Tanvi Somani, Programme Manager, Google Developer Group, India graced the event.
