As many as 210 selected students of Class 9 from Charaideo and Sivasagar districts of Assam participated in the flagship scheme of the Government of Assam.
The first phase of ‘Arohan’ was held at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati from January 31 to February 3, 2023. As many as 210 selected students of Class 9 from Charaideo and Sivasagar districts of Assam participated in the flagship scheme of the Government of Assam.
What is Arohan scheme?
Aarohan scheme of the Government of Assam is a mentor-mentee programme for the talented students of Class 9 of Assam where a mentor will guide up to five students for a period of four years on various skills and development. Arohan scheme was launched to identify the talented students from the remote, rural and poor families for the mentoring and monitoring of their academic career. A web portal on “Aarohan” is also there.
IIT Guwahati tweeted, "The first phase of "AROHAN", held from 31st Jan to 3rd Feb 2023 @IITGuwahati. 210 selected students of class IX from the districts of Charaideo and Sivasagar participated the flagship scheme of Government of Assam.”
It further wrote, “AROHAN is a flagship scheme of Government of Assam for career progression of the meritorious students of Class IX to XII in Government/ Provincialised schools, Adarsha Vidyalayas, Tea Garden Model schools and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas across the state."
