Allahabad University students develop a new and upgraded website for the website with special features. Check details here.
Allahabad University has launched its new and upgraded website which has been developed by the students of the varsity. The new website has been developed to address all the shortcomings and problems that exist in the current website.
The website was launched by the officiating Vice-Chancellor Professor R R Tiwari at a function held at the north hall of the Senate hall. The issue with the current website was that it lacks the security features as because of no distributed firewall, admin login can be revealed while doing Google search for common words. There is no cache system and no page compression makes the website performance low. Because of the improper implementation of model view controller architecture, every page has the title of “University of Allahabad.”
In the newly refurbished website, the security feature has been implemented in a very different manner wherein two-level authentication is required and the dashboard has been rewritten so that it is not visible to the public, informs the Public Relation Officer (PRO), Allahabad University, Shailendra Mishra.
In the new website, a lot of bandwidth will also be saved because the website uses Ajax technology and feature of CDN (Content Delivery Network). CDN helps in fast delivery of internet content, thereby accelerating the website performance and increasing the search ranking.
The website now has a feature of the newsletter as well. The website is now dynamic – Video and backside images can be changed and floating buttons have been also provided on the right side. The theme of the website has also been updated and the backend has been updated to support it. ‘Contact us’ page has been designed to help parents, students, and media.
