Allahabad University searches Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Chair Professor

Allahabad University has been searching for Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Chair Professor and it has started accepting applications and nominations for the same.

Recently, Allahabad University (AU) has begun searching for Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Chair Professor and it has started accepting applications and nominations from eminent social scientists. The university has invited applications for it and the last date by which application must reach is January 4, 2022, by 5:00 pm in the office of Registrar, University of Allahabad, Prayagraj-211002, Uttar Pradesh.

The university's notification reads, "The University of Allahabad (A Central University) invites applications/nomination from Social Scientists-Academicians/Scholars of outstanding track record in the designated areas of study for Chair Professor, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Chair at University of Allahabad."

The eminent professors in the field of Social Science are invited to apply for the prestigious Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Chair. These professors can be working or retired. The essential qualification is the professor must be in the field of Social Science and of a minimum of 55 years of age.

As per the notification, the functions will be to engage in research, design and execute short term capacity building programmes for teachers in higher education focussed towards the designated discipline of the chair. To publish articles/research papers/reports books and monographs. To participate in the teaching and PhD programme of the Department or School in which the chair is located.

Earlier in November, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had urged the university administration to fill the vacant teaching posts at the earliest and also inaugurated the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Chair for a period of five years. The Chair is expected to play a significant role in quality higher education, innovation and public welfare.
