There are 47 subjects for three year multidisciplinary courses that will be offered to the students under the university of Calcutta.
Calcutta University has released a three year multidisciplinary course curriculum and admission regulations which will be implemented from this academic session.
In this curriculum, the students will have the option to exit the course after the second and fourth semesters and they can choose science subjects along with humanities.
"The BA/BSc programme shall be for a minimum duration of six consecutive semesters with an exit option after second and fourth semesters," said the guideline released by Calcutta University.
"In order to make different multidisciplinary subject combinations, the subject of all the disciplines have been taken to create eight smaller multidisciplinary pools. The student shall select three subjects as core subjects taking not more than one subject from each pool," reads the notice, as reported by TOI.
Other colleges are also planning to convert their existing three year general courses to multidisciplinary ones.

The students must take as many as 16 core courses from two subjects taking eight from each core subject and they have to study six courses from minor subjects.
There will be four common value added courses of two credits each. Students need to select three inter-disciplinary courses, one in each of the first three semesters from a pool of subjects offered under different disciplines. They also need to learn three skill enhancement courses, one from each of two core subjects and a minor subject.
