CMRIT Innovators Bag Top Honours at Smart India Hackathon 2024
Students from CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) showcased their exceptional innovation and creativity at the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024, organised by the Government of India. Outshining over 1,300 teams from across the country, CMRIT emerged as a standout institution with five teams making it to the prestigious grand finale.
Team Pact from CMRIT won in the "Student Innovation" category at the Smart India Hackathon, presented by the AICTE-MIC Innovation Cell, winning a cash prize of INR 50,000. Their innovative project, an AI-powered application that simplifies complex End User License Agreements (EULAs) and Terms & Conditions (T&Cs) into user-friendly summaries, was praised for its practicality and ingenuity. The solution also includes an overlay function, providing enhanced clarity and transparency for app users.
In a showcase of innovation and teamwork, Team Pact featuring students from the CSE, ISE, and ECE departments, including Bhaavan Prabhakar (Team Lead), Ashwin Jose Thomas, Celia Rose Thomas, Christopher Mark D’Souza, GLK Abhiram Reddy, and Abhay Margabandhu secured a top position in the "Student Innovation" category at SIH 2024. The team’s success was bolstered by the expert mentorship of Mrs. Navaneetha M, Assistant Professor, whose guidance proved instrumental in their achievement.
CMRIT's other teams also delivered outstanding performances, tackling pressing issues such as marine oil spill detection and enhancing judicial process efficiency. These groundbreaking solutions highlight the institution’s unwavering commitment to driving socially impactful and technologically advanced innovations. This achievement solidifies CMRIT’s reputation as a centre of technological excellence, creativity, and problem-solving, reflecting its dedication to nurturing the next generation of leaders and innovators in the tech industry.
