Chaudhary Charan Singh University has deliberated to offer the study of Coronavirus (SARS – CoV2) under the one-year diploma in disaster management. This new syllabus for the diploma programme would consist of the study material on coronavirus.

Chaudhary Charan Singh University has planned to offer the study of Coronavirus (SARS – CoV2) under the one-year diploma in disaster management. This new syllabus for the diploma programme would consist of the study material on coronavirus. For approval, the self-financing programme will be put before the Academic Council of the University for approval. The university has also planned to include the study of coronavirus in three prevailing science courses. According to Prof NK Taneja, Vice-Chancellor of CCS, the responsibility of planning the curriculum for the planned study of SARS-CoV2 had been assigned to the heads of botany, zoology and environmental sciences branches. He held that the planned study of coronavirus would prove advantageous in the present scenario.

The course will be spread over a period of two semesters. The course will consist of studies in land storms, flood, and sea storms to be taken up in the first semester. On the other hand, in the second semester, there will be studies on the novel coronavirus with the help of zoology and biology department. Once the needed permissions are obtained, the course fee would be confirmed. According to the VC, the study material on coronavirus would be added to the new diploma course. This will be offered within the next two months.

It would be a self-financing course, for which in-principle approval has already been given. It would be put before the Academic Council of the University for required approval.
