Coronavirus: Dr Y.S.Parmar University creates herbal hand sanitizer

Dr Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry has come out with a herbal moisturizing hand sanitizer to offer good quality sanitizers. The university is situated in the Nauni region of Solan. It has been made by the Department of Forest Products scientists. On the occasion of International Day of Forests, it was released by Vice-Chancellor Parvinder Kaushal on Saturday. Its team of scientists was led by Principal Phytochemist Yash Pal Sharma. The team consists of Rohit Sharma, Meenu Sood and analyst Chitralekha Bhardwaj. The product has been made as per the guidelines of the World Health Organisation using herbal products grown at a university research firm.

In the first phase, the sanitisers will be given free of cost to all offices and departments of the Y.S. Parmar university. According to Yash Pal Sharma, at the campus, the product was developed using local products. He also stated that the alcohol content in the hand sanitizer was according to the WHO guidelines. The alcohol used in the sanitizer acts as a disinfectant. The products use a number of herbal and forest products that nourishes the sanitiser’s quality. The sanitizer consists of natural extracted oils. This enhances the antiseptic properties and acts against bacterial contamination. It also offers cooling and natural fragrance together with moisturizing the skin upon use.

So far, the coronavirus cases have infected more than 400, 000 individuals across the globe. The deadly virus has taken many lives in Italy. As of now, more than 10,000 people have lost their lives because of this disease.
