To prevent the loss of studies and continue the learning process, the university directed its lecturers and professors to give online classes.

Delhi University (DU) extended its closure and will remain shut until April 14, 2020. The university took the decision regarding the extension of the closure in view of the 21-day nationwide lockdown announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 24. The lockdown period started from March 25 and will go on until April 14.

However, to prevent the loss of studies and continue the learning process, the university directed its lecturers and professors to give online classes. According to the official press release, the online teaching process will continue as directed earlier with Departments expected to strengthen the process further. The official website of Delhi University has details of online platforms and services for teaching. Various learning resources are also uploaded and published on the website to make plenty of study material available for the students. The website also has details to establish a VPN connection for students and teachers to access the Library resources from home and utilize this lockdown period to the fullest.

Also, the students of DU are provided e-learning facilities by the University's Task Force. Delhi University has integrated digital learning resources and Google services like Google Classroom and Google Hangout with the University's domain. These resources are all not just free for education but also beneficial. However, as per our last update, professors of Delhi University reported slow internet speed and poor connectivity as major issues while conducting online classes for the students.

On March 19, the university suspended the classes for all departments and requested students to vacate the hostel due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country. To check the official notice regarding the further suspension of the classes CLICK HERE
