DU Centenary Celebration: New logo, 100-year celebration tagline by Gargi student released

All the eligible students of the University and its colleges were encouraged to participate in this one-of-a-kind “Centenary Logo” design competition and conceptualize a logo that will be used for all purposes and occasions in course of the centenary celebration.

Delhi University (DU) is prepping up to celebrate its 100th anniversary starting May 1. Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh announced that the centenary tagline and logo of the University competition has been won by Gargi College student Kratika Khinchi.

To mark the commemorative event, the University has earlier decided to encourage all the interested existing students on the rolls of the University and its colleges including Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) and School of Open Learning (SOL) to participate in a competition for conceptualization and creation of a “Centenary Logo”, which is expected to be an original creation of artistic endeavour of the students befitting to the dignity of this historic occasion.

The creator of the selected “Centenary Logo” will be appropriately awarded by the University.

Out of 315 logo designs, Kratika’s logo has been selected to be a part of the celebrations and might become the new identity of the university. Kratika is a second-year student of Gargi College of Delhi University. She is from Kota, Rajasthan. Due to the pandemic, Kratika has not been able to attend offline college. 

The logo designed by her is in golden colour and also features the university’s signature colour purple. There is a 100 written in the centre along with 1922-2022. Apart from this, she also wrote the tagline to showcase the efforts of the university in the past century. The tagline is, “A century of academic excellence."
