A large section of students has been demanding the university to either postpone exams or conduct them in online mode in view of the Omicron variant of Coronavirus surfacing in various states of the country.
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has issued a notification that all pre-scheduled and ongoing exams will be held as per the schedule and there will be no online exam as being demanded by the students.
A large section of students has been demanding the university to either postpone exams or conduct them in online mode in view of the Omicron variant of Coronavirus surfacing in various states of the country. Students fear the contagion and are urging authorities to conduct online exams.
Online classes to continue till January 16
AKTU incumbent Vice-Chancellor Prof Vineet Kansal said instructions had been issued to all affiliated colleges to conduct all classes in online mode from January 10 to 16. “Online classes will continue till January 16 and after that the university will review its decision and fresh guidelines will be issued,” he said.
“The institutes have been ordered to ensure strict adherence to the COVID-19 guidelines,” said Asheesh Misra, media incharge, AKTU, Lucknow.
Prof Pradeep Kumar Mishra, Vice-Chancellor (VC) at Jharkhand University of Technology, Ranchi, was recently appointed the new VC of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow. He will replace Prof Vineet Kansal who was given the additional charge of the post in August 2021.
