G20 Summit: Only JNU's main gate to remain open till Sept 11

In view of the traffic restrictions during the G20 Summit in New Delhi from September 8 to September 10, JNU has said that only its main gate will remain open till September 11, 2023. Read here for more details.

The national capital is all prepped up for the G20 Summit from September 8 to September 10. Delhi Police has tightened security and issued a traffic advisory. Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has issued a circular and said that only its main gate will remain open due to security reasons.

"In view of the restrictions imposed by the government of NCT of Delhi and over all security concerns, only North Gate (Main Gate) of the JNU campus will remain open from 9 pm on September 7, 2023, to 6 am September 11, 2023. All other gates will remain closed during this period," reads JNU's statement.

In another notice issued on August 26, 2023, the university said that for PG/M.Tech candidates, verification of documents will be held on September 14, 2023.

"The PG/M.Tech candidates who have been called for physical verification of documents on September 08, 2023, will now have to report for physical verification of documents on September 14, 2023. This is due to Holiday declared by Government of India from September 8, 2023, to September 10, 2023, on account of G-20 Summit in Delhi," stated JNU.

Admissions to these programmes will be based on CUET (PG)-2023.

Documents required at the time of admissions include - an Enrolment Form, Central Library Application Form, Five copies of recent passport-size photographs, two sets of self-attested copies of the Matriculation, Higher secondary, Pre-University or Indian School Certificate or Senior School Certificate (10+2), or an equivalent examination certificate showing the age/date of birth of the candidate, a Character Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended, two sets of self-attested copies of the statement of marks obtained by the candidate and passing certificate/degree of Senior School, Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree examination etc; or their equivalent examination, Migration Certificate, Two Anti-Ragging Affidavits.
