IGNOU admission deadline for January 2020 session extends yet again

The last date for admission to January 2020 session has been extended yet again by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). For fresh admission, Indian students can now apply till February 28, 2020 while international students have the option to apply till February 20, 2020. For the January 2020 session, the fresh admission process commenced in December 2019 and December 31, 2019 was the last date to apply earlier. But the last date to apply was extended till January 31, 2020. It was yet again extended till February 15, 2020.

IGNOU provides postgraduate, undergraduate, certificate, diploma, and research programmes. The programmes are offered in two sessions – one in January and another in July. Those students who have taken admission in the January session will sit for their first examination in December this year. The admission process is completely online and students are meant to furnish their relevant information, upload documents when required, and pay admission fees online. The university will check the eligibility and other details of the applicant. After the successful assessment, the university will provide the identity cards of students. The students can download them online.

Those students giving preference to digital study material in place of physical study material for their corresponding courses will be given a discount of 15 per cent on the admission fee. Although the last date for fresh admission has been extended by the university, the last date for re-registration was not extended. IGNOU is the world's biggest distance learning university offering courses in multiple domains.
