The Diploma in Paralegal Practice (DIPP) and Post Graduate Diploma in Criminal Justice (PGDCJ) programmes will be offered through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode for interested and eligible candidates qualifying the eligibility criteria for the respective programme for admission. 

IGNOU Admission 2025

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is offering two diploma programmes for interested and eligible students namely Diploma in Paralegal Practice (DIPP) and Post Graduate Diploma in Criminal Justice (PGDCJ). The programmes are being offered for the January 2025 admission cycle through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode.

The DIPP programme is a one-of-a-kind programme that aims to equip learners with essential paralegal skills, empowering them to effectively navigate and utilize the Indian legal system. Meanwhile, the PGDCJ programme aims to offer working professionals to upskill their skills in criminal law. 

IGNOU Admission 2025: Eligibility Criteria 

The Diploma in Paralegal Practice programme requires students to have 10+2 or above qualifications for enrollment in the programme. The duration of the programme is 1 to 3 years. The program will enable students to familiarise themselves with constitutional principles of dignity, equality, and justice, this program addresses the socio-economic disparities. 

On the other hand, the Post Graduate Diploma in Criminal Justice programme is suitable for police officials, advocates, doctors, Army personnel or any graduate interested in understanding the criminal justice system and criminal laws. The duration of the programme is 1 to 3 years. 

IGNOU Admission 2025: How to Apply?

The IGNOU application form 2025 for the Diploma in Paralegal Practice (DIPP) and Post Graduate Diploma in Criminal Justice (PGDCJ) programme is available in online mode at ignou.ac.in. Interested and eligible students can fill the application form subject to the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria for their desired programme.

Application form for B.Ed can be obtained online from the official website of IGNOU. At least, 50% marks either in the Bachelor's degree and/or in the Master's degree in sciences/social sciences/commerce/humanity. Candidates, who are trained in-service teachers in elementary education, will be eligible to apply for the entrance exam and further for admission or who have completed a NCTE recognised teacher education programme through face-to-face mode. Here are few things that students will recieve after taking admission in IGNOU:

  • Once a students get admission into IGNOU, he or she will recieve the enrollment number and ID for future login to the samarth portal of the university.
  • Based on the choice made by the candidate while filling the application form, he or she will then recieve the study material. Soft copy is available on the official website of the university. 
  • Registered students also recieve a mail from the regional or study centre for counselling. It is an induction ceremony where the course is introduced to the students.
  • A schedule of classes is also shared through mail. For any query regarding classes, students must contact their study centre.

IGNOU admission is conducted in two cycles, i.e. January and July. While the registrations for the January session generally get over in March, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) admission for the July session opens in June and remains open till Jul-Aug and sometimes even till September. The admissions are mainly based on the aggregate obtained by candidates in the last qualifying degree. Students who were not able to take admission in the January batch are open for admission in the July batch. Hence, the answer is almost yes.
