A total of 79 students from Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering Departments got their BTech Degrees conferred during the IIT Jammu convocation ceremony.
IIT Jammu Convocation: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu conducted its first-ever convocation on January 09, 2021. According to the reports, the premiere technology institute conducted the convocation in hybrid mode for the first batch of engineers. A total of 79 students from Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering Departments got their BTech Degrees conferred during the IIT Jammu convocation ceremony. Out of 79 graduates, 39 candidates who were present at the campus received their degrees, while the remaining 40 candidates were given their degrees through online means.

The official data released by the institute suggest that computer science and engineering department student, Aakar Sharma received the director's Gold Medal for outstanding all-round performance and Institute Silver Medal for securing the highest CGPA in his department. Additionally, Taijaswaini Agarwal, who secured the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in the university was awarded the President of India Gold Medal during the event.
Padma Bhushan awardee Indian American electrical engineer, Professor Arogyaswamy J Paulraj addressed the IIT Jammu Convocation Ceremony 2021. During the event, he addressed the students and delivered the message of excellence to the graduates. Later, a song was presented by junior Students of IIT Jammu, while the institute presented a website showcasing graduate batch memories. IIT Jammu Convocation Ceremony 2021 was also graced by the Chairman, and Board of Governors, Sharad Kumar Saraf, along with director Professor Manoj Singh Gaur, Chairman, Convocation committee, Professor Ashoke K Sarkar, and Registrar, IIT Jammu Colonel Sanjay Dahiya.
