IIT Madras launches BS in Electronic Systems, JEE not required

IIT Madras online BS in Electronic Systems comes with a four-year BS degree option. Candidates will be able to register for the programme at the official website on study.iitm.ac.in/es/ once the application window is open. 

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras today launched a new four-year online BS in Electronic Systems. Candidates can now apply for the programme at the official website on study.iitm.ac.in/es/. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the BS in Electronic Systems programme. This is the second online BS programme launched by IIT Madras. The institute had earlier launched BS in Data Science and Applications, which currently has more than 17,000 students. 

Who can apply for BS in Electronic Systems at IIT Madras? 

Anyone interested in electronic systems, irrespective of age, can join the IIT Madras BS in Electronic Systems programme. The course has multiple entry-exit options. Students should have studied maths and physics in Class 12 in order to become eligible for the course. There is no age limit. Interestingly, JEE score is not for the programme.  

BS in Electronic Systems application fees 

The online application fee for General category, OBC, EWS applicants is INR 6,000, while for SC / ST / PwD (>= 40% disability) candidates, it is INR 3,000 and for SC, ST applicant who is also PwD (>= 40% disability), the application fees is INR 1,500. The fees paid will give access to four weeks of course content for the qualifier process and the qualifier exam. The qualifier exam will be based on this content alone.  

The programme consists of a mix of theory and laboratory courses. As part of the programme, students will have access to recorded video lectures, reading materials, weekly assessments, tutorials and interactive doubt-clearing sessions, all of which can be done online. For laboratory courses, students have to be present in-person at IIT Madras for about two weeks every semester.
