The college further informed that it has also constituted a committee to look into the grievances that were raised by the students and to investigate the reasons leading to this unfortunate incident. On March 28, students alleged that some men had climbed the college boundary and harassed several women during the annual Shruti festival at the college.
Delhi University's Indraprastha College for Women has said that it has taken serious note of the unfortunate harassment incident that took place during the cultural fest on the campus. In order to expedite the process, the University has also called upon the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Police, Civil Lines, Delhi.
The college further informed that it has also constituted a committee to look into the grievances that were raised by the students and to investigate the reasons leading to this unfortunate incident. On March 28, students alleged that some men had climbed the college boundary and harassed several women during the annual Shruti festival at the college.
“Indraprastha College for Women has requested the SHO, Civil Lines to send a lady officer to the College between 12 noon to 3 PM tomorrow ie April 5, 2023, to register the complaints of the students who experienced trauma from the individuals who entered the College premises unauthorisedly,” the college said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the counselor of the college has been asked to provide counselling to the students to overcome the trauma they went through. “The Counselor will be available in the counseling room of the College between 3 PM to 6 PM from 5 April 2023 to 8 April 2023,” it said.
The college has also requested all the stakeholders to provide all the relevant information including pictures and videos of the culprits who have misbehaved with the students and entered into the college.
The college further assured the Delhi Commission for Women that it is seriously considering the concern raised by the Commission and a committee has also been formed and the report of the committee will be submitted to the Commission as soon as the same is available.
