Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha took stock of the ongoing projects through camera-mounted drones via videoconferencing.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reviewed the progress on ongoing projects of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jammu and Jambu Zoo through camera-mounted drones via videoconferencing from his office at Raj Bhawan in Jammu.
He was briefed about the physical and financial progress of the projects during the meeting. AIIMS Jammu Director Shakti Gupta said around INR 1,661 crore has been sanctioned for AIIMS Jammu, including INR 1,452 crore for the construction and INR 209 crore for medical equipment and furniture, while works worth INR 1,253.78 crore have been tendered.
The phase I of the project includes hospital, medical college, nursing college, staff quarters, student accommodation, auditorium, Ayush building, night shelter and other development works. Regarding the progress on permanent campus of IIT Jammu, Director Manoj Singh Gaur said INR 1,283.94 crore has been sanctioned for the project.
The Lt Governor was informed that completed works under Phase 1A and Phase 1B have been inaugurated by the Home Minister, while works under Phase 1C are in progress. He was further informed that on Jambu Zoo, funds to the tune of INR 49.17 crore have been approved against the total project cost of Phase I worth INR 62.41 crore.
The phase 1 of AIIMS Jammu project is expected to be completed in March 2023, while the phase 1 of Jambu Zoo and phase 1C of IIT Jammu are likely to be completed by September 2022 and April 2023, respectively.
