In the wake of news of violence coming from North Eastern part of the country, Jawaharlal Nehru University has advised the students to maintain peace else action will be taken against them.
Jawaharlal Nehru University issued an advisory for students and requested them to maintain peace in the backdrop of the prevailing situation and reports in North Eastern part of the country.
"In view of the prevailing situation and the reports being received in North Eastern part of the country, all stakeholders of the campus are advised to be vigilant and maintain peace and harmony on campus. Strict action will be taken against anyone found spreading rumours/fake news or indulging in unauthorized activities," reads the official notification.
"The administration reiterates its resolve for the zero tolerance towards any form of violence/indiscipline on campus and appeals to all stakeholders of the campus to desist from all such activities failing which strict action will be taken as per university rules," added the notification.
UG admissions open in JNU till August 2
JNU invited online applications for Under Graduate (UG) & Certificate of Proficiency (COP) programmes for the Academic Session 2023-24. Candidates who have appeared in Common University Entrance Test – CUET (UG)-2023 conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) can only apply online w.e.f. July 16, 2023, to August 2, 2023, by login on the website https://jnuee.jnu.ac.in.
JNU offers admissions in UG and COP Programmes (B.A.-M.A. integrated programme in Foreign Languages, B.Sc.-M.Sc. Integrated Programme in Ayurveda Biology and Certificate of Proficiency programmes) for academic session 2023-24 through Common Universities Entrance Test CUET (UG)-2023 in School of Language, Literature & Cultural Studies and in School of Sanskrit & Indic Studies.
