MUHS Exams Postponed! The Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) postponed its final-year MD and MS exams for the academic session 2021. The University has scheduled the exams to begin on June 24 but now the same has been postponed until further notice. According to the source, the decision has been taken considering the health and safety of students and staff members amid the increasing number of COVID-19 cases. As the NEET PG has been postponed for at least three months, and aspirants have been asked to join COVID-19 duties, there is no certainty regarding when the first-year junior residents doctors would join the college. Earlier, MUHS had deferred the undergraduate semester exams. The exams were scheduled to begin on April 19. State Medical Education Minister Amit V Deshmukh had said that the exam will now be held in June.
Meanwhile, the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) also released an official notification stating the postponement of the Postgraduate Examinations for Broad Specialty Courses (MD/MS/Diploma). Earlier, WBUHS scheduled the PG exams to be conducted from May 6, 2021. According to the official notice, in reference to the Communication of the Director of Medical Education to the Officiating Vice-Chancellor, WBUHS and NMC Advisory for all Medical colleges regarding Final Year Postgraduate students, it is hereby notified to all concerned Students/Teachers/Guardians, “the Examination scheduled to start from May 6, 2021, is being deferred for a period of two months or till further orders, considering the present Covid-19 pandemic situation.”
