With the mandatory regulation to make ponytails, many students have shown their anger and have asked the authorities to revise it.

Sunderwati Mahila College has passed a new dress code for the students as per which all the girls have to come to college in two ponytails or one. As per the rule, the student will not be allowed to enter the premises if they have come with open hair.

The SM College passed the new rule for students studying in Class 11 in the academic year (2021-23).  The rule is applicable for all streams – Science, Arts, Commerce – students. Around 1500 students are currently studying in different streams.

A new committee has been formed by the Principal Prof.(Dr.) Dr. Raman Sinha recently. The committee has released the new rule for the academic session 2021-23, as per which, the students have to come in royal blue Kurti, White pants, white dupatta, white socks, black shoes, one or two ponytails. For winter, students will have to come wearing a blue blazer or a cardigan.

However, with the mandatory regulation to make ponytails, many students have shown their anger and have asked the authorities to revise it. When Shiksha contacted the Principal to understand the move taken by the college, he refused to pass any comment on the same.

Meanwhile, students have also threatened to oragnise a protest against the new rule if not revised.
