Patna University's Geology Department will be celebrating its platinum jubilee on February 19, 2023. Chief minister Nitish Kumar is likely to inaugurate the main function to be held at Patna Science College ground. The event will be graced by the IIT Director T N Singh and presided over by Vice-Chancellor Girish Kumar Chaudhary.

A directory of alumni, who have been rendering their services in different organisations, including Geological Survey of India, Central Groundwater Board, ONGC, Oil India Ltd., Coal India Ltd., National Mineral Development Corporation, and other geological institutions, besides the bureaucracy, politics and judiciary will be released on the occasion.
"A collection of platinum jubilee lectures delivered by eminent geoscientists during the year-long celebrations would also be handed over to the alumni who make it to the function," Pandey said as reported by TOI.
