Punjabi University will conduct the exams for final year students from September 25 onwards. The varsity has released examination guidelines for the same. 

The Punjabi University has released the examination guidelines for students who will be appearing for the exams from September 25 onwards. Dr J I S Khattar, controller examinations, Punjabi University, Patiala, said that every department/college will conduct examination of its regular/reappear students of final year/semester at their own level. Distribution of question papers and evaluation of answer sheets will also be done at college/department level.

The Head of Department will be controllers of the exam centres and they will be appointing coordinators or nodal officers and assistant nodal officers for the exams. The students appearing for the exams will be given two hours to complete the exams and an extra two hours to download the question paper, scan the answer sheets, and send the PDF via email. The Undergraduate exams will be conducted from 10 am to 2 pm and for the others, it will be conducted from 9 am to 1 pm.  The visually impaired students and the differently-abled students will be given 40 minutes extra time to solve the exams while they are also required to arrange writers for writing the exams. 

Khattar further said that each of the students will be allowed to use a maximum of 16 A4 size sheets to  the question papers and write on only one side of each page with the number mentioned in it. Students are also required to use only blue ball pens and at the end of the answer sheets, the students have to declare that the paper is written in their own handwriting. After completing the exams students are required to scan and create a PDF file that has to be attached via mal given by the department. 

If the students cannot find resources to scan the answer sheets that can submit the same in a specified time at the nearest department or institute of Punjabi University and a receipt will be given to the students. Students will be provided the question paper on the day of the exam through email or WhatsApp or on the website of the department or college.  

The varsity will not conduct revaluation or re-checking of the papers that were conducted during this session and the marks of all the questions in the exam will be equal. Students are required to attempt 50 per cent of the total question of the question paper.

Those who stays in containment zones or are COVID-19 positive will have to inform the varsity and the concerned department or colleges in writing before the commencement of the exams. Such students will be able to sit in the next exams later when the exams are conducted.
