Sri Sri University Cuttack has launched a Sri Sri School of Cyber peace, four research centres and a new ‘Faculty of Emerging Technologies’ that will offer 20 new courses in the upcoming academic year 2021-22.
Sri Sri University has opened this School of Cyber Peace in association with the CyberPeace Foundation. The varsity has claimed that it is one of its kind in the world. This school aims to strengthen and enhance the global cyber peace ecosystem through the research and innovation-focused educational framework in sync with the initiative from this foundation.
The curriculum for the degree courses in the field of cybersecurity has been conceptualized keeping in mind the learning outcome-based curriculum framework (LOCF) on the one hand and having 65 per cent plus hands-on experience for the students as per the spirit of National Education Policy 2020 on the other hand.
This will enhance their employability quotient and entrepreneurial skills so that they are competent enough to start their own ventures, said the official sources.
As per Cybersecurity Ventures, there will be 3.5 million unfilled cybersecurity jobs globally by the end of 2021, up from one million positions in 2014. Moreover, there is a growing number of cybercrimes and threats across the globe.
“Therefore, the degree programmes in cybersecurity, digital forensic and incident response, cyber defense and research are the need of the hour,” the varsity said in a statement.
The research centres on water resources and environment management, advanced research in Kathak, Bharatanatyam and the last one regarding translation and interpreting studies.
