The University of Hyderabad (UoH) inks an agreement with the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) Hyderabad to renew its commitment to continuing its academic collaboration in education and research.
Both institutions will take their competence in the natural sciences -- physics and chemistry -- to the next level, transforming the country’s quest for excellence and human resource development, the UoH said in a statement.
A Research and Academic Advisory Committee (RAAC) will oversee the collaboration between the university and TIFR-H. This agreement seeks to enable both institutions to jointly organise lectures, workshops, conferences and seminars at the national and international levels.
Faculty from both institutes will look at establishing inter-institutional centers on mutually agreeable thematic areas to promote interdisciplinary research. This agreement will have long-term implications for strengthening and enhancing academic excellence, the university added.
The agreement has been signed for a period of five years by Dr Devesh Nigam (Registrar), Professors Jagan MR Pongubala and PK Suresh from the UoH and D Hari Prasad (Administrative Officer), Professors Ullas Kolthur and M Krishnamurthy in the presence of Prof. BJ Rao, Vice-Chancellor, UoH; Professor Vadapalli Chandrasekhar, Director, TIFR.
