The decision regarding the increase in the number of seats during VNSGU Admissions was taken at a syndicate meeting held at the university campus on June 21.
VNSGU Admissions 2021: Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) has decided to increase the number of seats for students passing the standard 12 examinations from boards other than Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) from the next academic session. A decision regarding the increase in the number of seats during VNSGU Admissions was taken at a syndicate meeting held at the university campus on June 21.
Till now only 10% of the total intake of the VNSGU was available for students belonging to boards other than GSEB 12th. Now, the university has decided to make 20% of the seats available for the students from other boards. Meanwhile, 80% of the total seats will be reserved for GSEB students. Also, the university syndicate decided to impose a fine on MTB Arts College for late submission of exam forms. The syndicate ordered a fine of Rs 25 per form from the college.
A University official stated, “Students had submitted the forms in college well in advance. But the college officials delayed the submission of the same at the university. Hence the college has been fined.”
During the meeting, the syndicate also decided to form a committee to find a solution to the NaMo tablet issue. Earlier, VNSGU announced to distribute tablets for Rs 1,000 to each student. The announcement was made more than one and half years ago, yet many students have not received the tablet until now. Several student groups have staged various protests at the university campus over the issue.
