Realising the extraordinary impact the COVID-19 had on psychological, social, economic and cultural aspects of human society, the National Book Trust, India, decided to launch a publishing series titled 'Corona Studies Series'.
Aside from being threatened or scared, people are perplexed and confused as well due to the outbreak of coronavirus in India. The novel coronavirus resulted in the lockdown for an indefinite period. Colleges are shuts, campuses are closed, students are being promoted to next classes without exams and work-from-home has become the sole solution to run businesses.
Realising the extraordinary impact the COVID-19 had on psychological, social, economic and cultural aspects of human society, the National Book Trust, India, the national body for book publishing and book promotion under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, decided to launch a publishing series titled 'Corona Studies Series' for the readers of all ages. To fulfill the post-Corona readership needs, the National Book Trust of India took this step.
What is Corona Studies Series?
According to the chairman of the National Book Trust of India, Professor Govind Prasad Sharma, the Corona Studies Series’ seeks to be their long-term contribution to prepare and engage readers with the various aspects of the Corona times by bringing out affordable books in various Indian languages in the identified subject areas. The professor also stated that this initiative will also provide a suitable platform to authors and researchers willing to contribute to this genre.
The National Book Trust director Yuvraj malik revealed that a team has been taking cues and following the developments on the coronavirus closely. As the first step, a study group of some experienced and young psychologists/counselors has been set to prepare books on the sub-series on the Psycho-Social Impact of Corona Pandemic and the Ways to Cope. To support study material to the readers, both e-edition and printed-edition of these books will be released.
