Earlier, four schools in Uttar Pradesh's Noida, neighboring Delhi reported that Twenty-three students have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the last three days.
COVID-19 in Delhi Schools: A private school in Delhi sent one student along with a teacher on leave after both tested positive for COVID-19. Fresh COVID-19 cases witness a jump of 118 per cent on Wednesday from the daily count recorded two days ago. According to the data shared by the city health department, the positivity rate stood at 2.49 per cent.
Delhi government releases guidelines for schools
With the emerging COVID-19 cases in the Capital, the Delhi government released a fresh advisory for schools against the COVID-19 spread. Stating that the COVID-19 cases are rising in the National Capital, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia assured that there is nothing to worry. "COVID cases have slightly increased, but no hospitalisation, so need not worry. Since COVID is there, we have to learn to live with it. A general (COVID) guideline to be introduced for schools tomorrow. 1 or 2 COVID cases (of kids), 1 teacher from school have been reported,” the minister said.
"I have got reports from a few schools in the past few days where parents have informed about their child testing positive. The education department will tomorrow issue guidelines to schools in this regard," he added.
Students, teachers in Ghaziabad, Noida schools test positive
The Gautam Buddh Nagar health department had also issued an advisory to schools as 10 more children tested positive for COVID-19, taking the total number of minors who got infected this week to over 20 in the district. Earlier, four schools in Uttar Pradesh's Noida, neighboring Delhi have reported that Twenty-three students have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the last three days. Students from two schools situated in Ghaziabad tested positive. The schools announced closure and shifted the teaching-learning process back to online until the sanitization of the school premises was complete.
