Students test COVID-19 positive at UP Schools

COVID-19 Spread in Schools: Four schools in Uttar Pradesh's Noida, neighboring Delhi have reported that Twenty-three students have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the last three days, according to NDTV report. Updated data released by the Union Health Ministry state that India saw a single-day rise of 1,088 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,30,38,016, while the active cases dipped to 10,870. With 26 fresh fatalities, the death count climbed to 5,21,736, the data updated at 8 am stated.

COVID-19 not over yet!

While states across the country are removing restrictions such as wearing masks and practicing social distancing, it appears that COVID-19 is not over yet. Some reports even suggest that India will witness the fourth wave of the novel coronavirus in the month of June. With the emerging cluster infection reports of COVID-19, it appears that the states have to start reworking on implementing precautionary against COVID-19 spread in the various regions.

National COVID-19 recovery rate remained at 98.76 per cent

The active cases comprise 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate remained at 98.76 per cent, the ministry said.

A reduction of 19 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The ministry data states that the daily positivity rate was recorded as 0.25 per cent and the weekly positivity rate as 0.24 per cent.
